Birthday class

Doesn't it suck when you have to work on your birthday?
For me - not really.
I am teaching my registered Hoop Strength & Core class at Acadia Pool & Recreation Center tonight, and I've decided we're having a party. The ladies gave me a few song requests last week and I have put together a super fun playlist for us. Its so good, I kinda wish the class wasn't registered so everybody could join us.

I've got a High Intensity Interval circuit that will blast away the blahs, and then we dance dance dance.
I'm bringing glow sticks and my glow hoops too.

If you are interested, here is my Bouncy Birthday playlist.
Enjoy!!

Musings on Hoop Dance

One day, I would really like to create an introduction to hooping video, so I can capture the imagination of those with idle curiosity (and to refer people to it). Everything else that comes once you get into the hoop is part of the journey.

There is a junior high class that will be joining me for one day in December over at Trico, which I am pretty excited about. 18 kids plus teachers.

Understandably, the teacher asked for a description of hooping. I really should write one. Till then, I passed along 3 videos that I feel describe it fairly well as far as the way I see it. Enjoy!

Words to a fellow hooper, teacher and friend

Its no accident that this "revolving" that we do changes us, and how we interact with the world. We are evolving, we are growing, dreaming and doing. It is part of that great circle - as one part moves into the light, another retreats in shadow.

Stay in the center of the circle
and let all things take their course
